Lewis and Clark By: Thomas Jefferson I knew from the beginning that Lewis and Clark are reliable and worthy to take on the challenge, the expedition, because they knew exactly what promises could be in the future of the American people. Lewis and Clark know exactly how important it is to keep moving forward. Their effort to explore the western land in 1803-1806 was a chance American could grow to attain the American Dream. Sparked by the Louisiana Purchase, Lewis and Clark had explored a region filled with many natural resources and lush soil for vegetation. Lewis and Clark pioneered that land so later people can live, own and work on their piece of land. Filling the desire to opportunity in America being self sufficient, this expedition started a great aftermath of success for Lewis and Clark and for the early Americans to cultivate the land. The land this people owned showed the hardships and struggles they went through, in the end their landmark was a piece of freedom from the original colonies. It is because of Lewis and Clark that these people can finally feel independent and the journey so far has been paid off.
Lewis and Clark also brought happiness and success to many in later years. The area Lewis and Clark had explored was home to Indians and many dangers that could have had a major effect on America. The one of the worst cases would be being in a state of war with Indians to gain more land however Americans were able to become frontiers of the land after the expedition was completed and altogether accomplished a goal outlining the success for the American people. In the end many people including myself believe that this expedition brought happiness that we can move west, we can move forward. This provides a new start to those who thought and expected more from the beginning; now it is possible to start fresh and become please with yourself and this new land. It is normally the little fear of failures and chance of contradiction that stops one from moving forward. I know what doors they have opened, new trading opportunity domestically and foreign and basically a chance to be independently happy, successful and freedom.
